Firstly, some key dates:

- New Poole Town Council Elections will be on Thursday 7th May 2026
This year’s AGM will be chaired by Andrea Charman, currently our vice chairman and about to become our chairman, so the meeting will be in safe hands.
We will be hearing from our key guests;
- Our MP will be telling us about his parliamentary activities in support of Poole’s needs.
- Our Councillor will review his and his fellow councillor’s many efforts in support of our Ward
- The Mayor of Poole will review the changes the new Town Council may bring
- The BCP Council leader, Councillor Millie Earl, will be happy to answer questions. Andrea has been gathering possible questions which will be passed on before the meeting so that so that the Council Leader will be well prepared to give clear informative answers!
Your officers will report on the Association’s year including presentation of the accounts.
Your Executive Committee will be presenting the revised subscription proposals for confirmation. A new raft of officers will be proposed for the coming Association year.
Details of all this will be posted on the Association Web site together with the AGM Agenda.
The AGM will see a number of Exec members stepping down; Myself as age takes its toll, Roy Pointer, our man who knows his way round the labyrinth bureaucracy of BCP Council better than anyone and John Gunton who has been a stalwart member for many years and was the Editor of “Pines & Chines” for more than a decade. John Harkness, our skilled and knowledgeable Planner Officer wishes to stand down as soon as possible, but has agreed to stay on until a suitable successor can be found.
In addition, it would be valuable to have “assistants/deputies for some of our key roles.
We are always looking for volunteers. Anyone who feels they may be able to help in any way please contact Andrea,andreacharman@equilearn.org who will be happy to discuss possibilities with you.
Our chosen artist Stuart Roberts has already started his preliminary
work on the new mural at the rebuilt shelter at Pinecliff Gardens. His draft sketches and painting will be on display at the AGM. Come and meet him.
Finally, it only remains for me, as I stand down to wish the Association and its hard-working volunteers (both on the Exec committee and as Wardens) all the very best for the coming year and years.
