January 2026 Newsletter

posted in: BPCCRA Newsletters 0

As January 2026 starts with a biting cold spell, I would  like to wish a happy and peaceful new year to all our members.

What can we look forward to in 2026?

  • A steady stream of planning applications, a significant number of which we will need to object to on legitimate planning grounds
  • The establishment of the new Poole Town Council and the need to understand how to work with it. The election of its first Councillors.
  • Local elections for BCP Council.
  • The need to keep the pressure on our Council(s) to look after and maintain our natural and built environment; the priceless assets that make Branksome Park and Canford Cliffs the wonderful area it is.
  • Hopefully, success with our CIL (Community Infrastructure Levy) application for much needed road safety improvements.

We are still ( always!)  looking for members who can help us in any way. In particular, we would  like someone to help us  keep in touch with our vital group of Street Wardens, and aid the Association in keeping this important function up to date and flourishing. Anyone who would consider this (It’s not too onerous!) should contact me and I will be happy to discuss in more detail what is involved.

Our Pines and Chines editor Annabel is getting underway with the next “Pines & Chines” and is hoping for a great selection of articles from members, Do send them in, even if only in draft form, to ed.pinesandchines@icloud.com

The next  BPCCRA open meeting will be on:

Wednesday 11th February 2026

The Association AGM will be on:

Saturday 11th April 2026
