The daffodils are telling us that Spring is on its way and as I write this the sun is shining and it’s not raining!  So, what is in store for the coming weeks?

Firstly, some key dates:

#Planning the new mural for the rebuilt shelter at Pinecliff Gardens;

We will be meeting with our chosen Artist, Stuart Roberts, on site at the shelter on this Saturday 7th March at 10-30am. All are welcome to join us when we will be sharing the ideas and suggestions that emerged at our recent open meeting.

# The BPCCRA AGM will be on Saturday 11th April 2026, 10-30am, Canford Cliffs Village Hall,17 Ravine Rd, Poole BH13 7HT. Our Guests will include:

Our MP, Neil Duncan Jordan; the Mayor of Poole; John Challinor, one of our ward councillors and Councillor Millie Earl, the leader of BCP Council.

# New Poole Town Council Elections will be on Thursday 7th May 2026

 Regarding this year’s AGM, we will be hearing from our key guests;

  • Our MP will be telling us about his parliamentary activities in support of Poole’s needs.
  • Our Councillor will review his and his fellow councillor’s many efforts in support of our Ward
  • The Mayor of Poole will review the changes the new Town Council may bring
  • The BCP Council leader will be happy to answer questions. So that she will have some notice, it would be useful if members would submit possible questions to our deputy Chairman and Secretary Andrea Charman andreacharman@equilearn.org

Your officers will report on the Association’s year including presentation of the accounts.

Your Executive Committee will be presenting the revised subscription proposals for confirmation. A  new raft of officers will be proposed for the coming Association year.

Details of all this will be posted on the Association Web site together with the AGM Agenda.

The AGM will see a number of Exec members stepping down; Myself as age takes its toll; our  very talented Planning Officer, John Harkness who has done a hard-working stint in this very important role; Roy Pointer, our man who knows his way round the labyrinth  bureaucracy of BCP Council and John Gunton who has been a stalwart member for many years and was the Editor of “Pines & Chines” for more than a decade.

We are currently searching out replacements. Anyone who feels they may be able to help in any of the roles please contact us. Some of the roles can be shared and the “standing down” members will be there to ensure a smooth transition. We continue to look for members who can help us in any way. There will be always be tasks which need a helping hand. Contact me or Andrea andreacharman@equilearn.org  if you would like to explore any possibilities.
