By now most of our members should have received their winter edition of “Pines & Chines”. What a great issue our hard working and Creative editor has put together! If you haven’t got your copy yet, especially if you joined BPCCRA after November 2024, please email your name and address to our editor Annabel ed.pinesandchines@icloud.com We will make sure we get a copy to you.
Without totally repeating all of my October note on the lack of maintenance of our Chines, Public Gardens and Cliff Walks, a recent walk along the Pinecliff path was rather depressing. Encroaching brambles, sprouting Holm oaks, crumbling paths all seem to get worse by the day. We will continue to work with our hard-working ward Councillors to engage BCP Council on ways of dealing with this issue. It is so important to the quality of life here in Poole and the future of its Tourism Industry.
The Council seems determined to go ahead with the expense and bureaucracy of a Town Council for Poole, despite a strong negative response to their “Consultation”. At our last open meeting we agreed that if it is established, we should not ignore but try to be involved in a positive way.
We are still looking for a member who will help us keep in touch with our vital group of Street Wardens, and aid the Association in keeping this important function up to date and flourishing. Anyone who would consider this (It’s not too onerous!) should contact me and I will be happy to discuss in more detail what is involved.
Advance Notice: Our December BPCCRA open meeting will be on Wednesday 10th December, 7-30 Committee Room St Alfheim’s Church Hall Poole. Christmas drinks and Nibbles will be served at the end of the meeting.
