Dear Members

Plans for Monthly Meetings

The April meeting would have been on Wednesday 12 April, but we have cancelled it, as the AGM is taking place this month (see below). The next regular meeting will be on Wednesday 10 May, in the usual committee room at St Aldhelms Parish Centre. The Agenda and the Planning Report will be available separately on the Pines & Chines website. Our current plan is to have our regular meetings every two months over the summer period, the dates being 12 July and 13 September. This could be changed if there are significant issues to discuss.

AGM Plans

The AGM will take place at the Canford Cliffs Village Hall on Saturday 22 April 23. The meeting will start at 10:30 am, and there will be the usual refreshments afterwards. Our Guest Speakers will be David Sidwick, the Dorset Police and Crime Commissioner, followed by Sir Robert Syms, our local MP.

As you will read in the latest magazine, there is an ongoing problem with vacancies on the Executive Committee. The two positions which we will need to fill are the Chairman and the Planning Officer. For the Chair, we need someone who is keen to meet the objectives of the association, and is able to run the various public and committee meetings. The Planning Officer’s role is to monitor the planning applications in our area, and register objections where appropriate. There is also the administrative task of preparing monthly planning lists and six-monthly reports for the magazine.

We would be pleased to hear from any resident who could help us to fill these positions, and it is even possible to accept nominations during the AGM meeting!
