BPCCRA AGM Questions April 11, 2026
1 Unattended Roads and Walkways
Is it possible to make sure our roads, walkways and Chines are kept clear of tree litter (leaves, cones, needles, branches),other sodden debris (not to mention litter) and are usable for pedestrians, particularly in the wet winter?
It would help if roads were cleared of parked cars in advance of any sweeping. This never seems to happen.EG: Flaghead Chine has been slippery, dangerous underfoot for the past couple of years.
(Brenda Green, 9 Flaghead Road)
2 Alum Chine Tropical Gardens
Can we expect these popular gardens to be restored and re-opened? Iain Ollason
3 Poole Town Council
We note the Council’s consultation exercise results reveal the strength of feeling against the proposals. Residents request an explanation of the forecast costs of £1M quoted in the Council Meeting of 14 October 2025, compared with the much higher tax figure to be realised from precept in the bills recently mailed. How will BCP Council control the amount of any precept demanded by new councils? Plus, what are the staffing proposals, the costs, and the expected services for Poole Town Council?
4 Promenade Lighting
Lots of questions about why the Promenade lighting stops at the border with Poole? All goes black until Sandbank’s. Totally unsafe.
5. Housing Targets v Conservation
How does BCP Council intend to meet its housing delivery targets in a way that maintains the character and quality of both conservation areas and non-designated areas, ensuring that development does not result in incremental harm to the wider built environment?
