JUNE 2026 NEWSLETTER

June is disappearing fast but personally I’m not sure that summer has finally arrived given the recent swings in the weather we’ve all experienced, although temperatures now begin to suggest a swim in the sea could well be on the cards!

As the month draws to a close I wanted to share a brief update on a few upcoming events and association developments. A fuller newsletter will follow in early July.

Firstly a couple of dates to note and opportunities for us to get together.

Unveiling of the new Pinecliff Gardens shelter mural

Thursday July 2, Pinecliff Gardens.  The mural project has been managed by our recently retired Chair, Peter Schroeder. Peter sourced the artist and has organised a small but official unveiling with the Mayor of Poole accepting the mural on behalf of the community. The ceremony will begin at 2.30pm and there will be refreshments.

Next BPCCRA Open Meeting

Wednesday August 12, 7.30 pm Committee Room St Aldhelm’s Church Hall. This is our summer meeting which includes a post-meeting chat and glass of wine from 8.30 to 9.15pm. The usual chance to meet fellow members and the committee to exchange views, ideas and concerns.

A quick membership update and reminder that our membership fees have now been increased to £10 for individual members and £7 per flat for block memberships.  Our move to a new online membership system is imminent and we will be contacting members soon with more information.

You will be aware that we are always looking for volunteers. We’re actively seeking to fill two Executive Committee posts: Honorary Secretary and a Special Projects lead. The latter is critical to planning, presenting CIL bids and a key link with our exceptional gardening group.  If you’re interested in finding out more please contact me at ChairBPCCRA@pinesandchines.co.uk

We’re also looking for a replacement street warden to cover Blake Dene Road and Elgin Road, BH14.  If this is something you could help us with please contact Annabel CommunicationsBPCCRA@pinesandchines.co.uk

My thanks to you all for your continuing interest in supporting us in doing the best we can for our community and in raising awareness of the need to conserve our natural assets.
